The MIL is driving me CRAZY!!!!!

OK, so I had to get this off my chest. The BITCH is driving me fucking insane!! I can't tell you how much it annoys the hell out of me to buy something for her to rip through like a hungry wildebeest. If she would go out and buy what she has polished off that wouldn't piss me off as bad.

One might ask what does a hungry wildebeest eat, well lets see....her diet consists of flour tortillas with numerous slices of Velveeta and butter, plain pasta and butter(sometimes Velveeta slices gets added to this), peanut butter and honey, Craisins with croƻtons and Ranch, and Popcorn. So healthy right?!?!?!

I just witnessed her POURING a BOWL of CRAISINS as her fucking breakfast! That's right a fucking bowl FULL!!! This was also her breakfast yesterday! Which OK is sort of healthy but 1/3c is the serving size and that is 130 calories. In 2 days she has used HALF my bag of craisins that I use on my salad!

Normally a big bag of Craisins from Costco will last me about 4 months, a jar of peanut butter will last about 6months(and at Costco you get 2 in a package so that is about a years worth) At her rate of grazing I will be out in about a month or less. FML

AAARRRRGGGHHHHH!

I can't even finish this fucking entry because I am so pissed off!

The ELDER(ly) is eating me out of house and home!

The Reemergence of Franny

Well not so long ago Franny was a big part of my life, then she went nuts and decided to pull away as a friend. Which really meant we never talked IRL or on the phone. Back before all of that there was a incident on Facebook with one of her "friends". Basically he decided to be a dick and start bad mouthing me so when I retaliated (which happened to be on her page) she got pissed. So being the bigger person, I deleted all my rude comments. All the while all she had to do was DELETE the thread, since as she said it was "Her Page" Anyway that is the back story which brings us to the latest.
Franny posted a link about Obama calling Michael Vic's people and congratulating them, and said she didn't want to comment but for everyone else to feel free to. Well within a matter of hours her Brother In Law was in a fight with a low life foul mouthed friend of hers. This friend was calling her BIL names and cursing at him. This went on for about 70comments. I just happened to read through and at the end wrote, "Wow last time I got in a fight like this with one of "Franny's" friends, it ended much like this one." Her BIL "liked" my comment. So my comment must have set her off because she deleted the thread and then the next day she deleted me.
I took a few days to think it over and sent her a message asking what I did to deserve that, after all my comment was innocuous. No response. So I decided a week ago I would go ahead and be the bigger person, because come on folks we aren't in High School anymore, and should be able to resolve this like adults. Right? Well the answer if WRONG, I sent her an email saying that I was sorry for saying or doing something that hurt her feelings, and what do I get, another Delete. That's right she BLOCKED me from her Twitter account. I mean really? How old are you Franny? 38? My 13 yr old son acts more mature than you do!
So anyway, I just had to vent about how childish she is being. But I do think that it is so hilarious that I get under her skin so bad that she has had to ignore, delete and block me in all ways of communication. I bet if I called her I would get ignored. LMAO, Oh well her loss. I have a lot more friends now that she is gone, and my life is better in so many ways. I hope that one day she will find the peace that she needs in her life.

Toys For PAWS

As many of you may know I help organize our prison program, which is called PAWS of HOPE (yolasite.pawsofhope.com) I would like to raise enough money to go and by these 10 dogs each a Kong Frisbee, Kong Ball, and a NylaBone for Christmas! If you have a love for animals and would love to give back this is definitely the way to do it. Our program is about second chances! All of our dogs were on Death Row and came from various backgrounds of abuse and neglect. Like our pups, the inmates that they are housed with are working their way to a second chance. This program teaches them to love and care for another living being. In order to stay in the program they also have to keep a clean record, so this cuts down on bad behavior. Please help spread the word about our program of that we can give our pups their Christmas Wish!

PAWS of HOPE Chipin Page

PAWS of HOPE

Paws of Hope is a program that started in June of 2009 at the Sanders Estes Unit Correctional Center as a form of rehabilitation for offenders as well as a way to save the dogs and make them more adoptable. Management and Training Corporation (MTC) contracts the Facility through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. MTC's main goal is to help rehabilitate Offenders for re-entry into society, so this is the perfect program for our Facility where all the Offenders will be going home soon. The dogs in the program are from a no kill animal shelter, Shelter 2 Rescue Coalition, and trained by the offenders and are well cared for. These dogs are able to be adopted by contacting us or the rescue. All dogs can be adopted for a small fee of $200.00 after the necessary application has been filled out and approved. The dogs come with all their shots and are spayed/neutered, potty trained and kennel trained plus do a lot of interesting tricks. There are 40 Offenders that help train the dogs and we have a professional dog trainer, Wendy Palmer out of Burleson, that comes to the facility to teach the Offenders all of the basics and more. This is such a great program and we are happy to be able to utilize it. The Offenders take a lot of pride in the program and it gives them a chance to love something and feel like they can get away from it all for an instant when they are around the dogs. The dogs stay in the cell with their designated trainer, are around people 24/7 and have several "potty breaks" a day, plus an hour of outside time. We are now in our fourth session and now have a total of ten dogs. The new session began on August 16, 2010 and the dogs will graduate around the middle of November.

Condonation

So today I had to go to the DVM to renew my drivers license and have my restriction removed. (Lasik is a wonderful thing!) I stood around for a bit taking and posting pics of the "interesting" inhabitants before I found myself talking to a very nice Pharmacist for a bit. Then after he left I sat and started listening to my Pastor's podcast. The series was about why people leave an come back to the church, with a sub heading of I've done some really bad things, will I be accepted?

Most people think just because they have strayed from church and the "Right" thing to do, that they can't come back. Often it is because of how they are treated by those members of the church or community. So my Pastor brought up a very good point. The question was asked, "If you are invited to a baby shower for a unwed teenage mom, are you condoning this behavior?"  The answer was simple...If you are living a Christ like life, by loving and showing compassion to others, it does NOT mean that you are condoning their actions.
We are often judged by the actions of those in our circle, but if the person making these assumptions were to really look at you as a person, they would see the true christian in you. Jesus was often in the company of "undesirables" of his time, and was judged for this. It wasn't that he condoned what they did, it was that he wanted to show them love and understanding in hopes that they would see the way back from their transgressions!

Just because you have been off course at one point or several in your life doesn't mean that you can't change your course for the rest of your life. I don't know why this spoke to me today, but it did so I thought I would share.

Mother of an 8th grader

So this morning got on to a great start. The boy actually woke up on his own with his alarm! We headed off to school only to be stopped by the 10million other parents who wanted to drop little Jane and Johnny off to school on their first day. (Note: I drive him in as a choice every morning, not just 1st day) So 2miles and 30minutes later....We arrive at school!

Maybe I'm weird, but we have been doing this for 9yrs now, so there are no tears, no walking in to his first class or any of the other Elementary School stuff. I find it odd that there are still moms who do this stuff past Elementary School. There has to come a time that you let your kid/s go; let them be their own person. I don't believe in making your kids dependent upon you for their whole lives. In order for a child to learn, you have to let them explore and make their own mistakes.

Why do some mothers find it so hard to let go? Is it their own insecurities that causes them to hang on for dear life? Did their mother's not give them enough attention, so they over do it with their own? Or is it that they simply have lost their own identity when they became mothers?

Don't get me wrong, I love my son with all my heart! I had a very loving mother as a child. It wasn't until I was a teenager, that things went sour. I, of course, was a typical teen and did and said stuff that was way out of line. My mom was dealing with a sick husband and a teenager that thought she knew it all and then some. But I know without a shadow of a doubt that she loved me and only wanted the best for me. I also know that if she ever said anything negative to me it was out of the stress of losing her husband to a disease that was incurable. There are many things I wish I could go back and do differently so that she wouldn't have had such a tough time raising me, but then I would not be the wife, mother, and friend I am today.

I never talked to my mom about her relationship with her mother. I do know that her mom died when they were very young, of cancer, so she was raised by her dad and step-mother. I can remember that as a middle sister, she never felt she measured up to her other siblings. She often yelled and cursed at us kids, but she gave all she had to make sure that we were taken care of. I try to be a little better by not yelling at my son, or cursing at him. I tell him all the time that I love him and how proud I am of him. It is hard enough being a teen and I don't want him to ever think for one minute that he isn't loved. I feel as parents, that is the one thing that we should strive to do, be better parents. No one strives to be worse than their parents were. (Or at least I would hope they don't)

So for all you mommies out there, Please put little Jane and Johnny on the bus and let go already. It doesn't make you cool to be strolling the halls of the middle school looking like a Cougar.

Myrtle Beach, SC Vacation

So our vacation went well, we arrived at the airport unscathed an on time. As soon as we stepped off the plane I realized what I had done. I booked us a vacation to the 2nd hottest place compared to Hell (the first being Texas) It was 89 degrees but it felt like 104. We instantly had sweat pouring off of us! Picked up the rental car, nice little Chevy Malibu (one of the best smelling rentals I've driven in a while, normally they smell like a fat, sweaty cigarette)

Our hotel, The Landmark Resort, was a hop, skip, and a jump from the airport. It was kinda funny, when we were circling OVER the Atlantic to get lined up with our runway for landing, we could actually see our Hotel on the beach.  So the hubby checks us in, and finds out that we are sharing the resort with a Youth Convention! It felt like one of the Credit card commercials were the couple thinks they are going to sit by a nice quiet pool, only to find it filled with kids rocking out to music. As we head up to our room, we hear several people complaining about the noisy kids....GREAT! We get to the suite on the 11th floor, only to find that it has been invaded with the worst fish smell you can imagine. I'm not talking succulent grill Talapia here, I'm talking dead hooker stuffed with rotten fish. We start looking every for said smell, no such luck. We decided to turn up the AC and head out to dinner, all the while hoping the fish stuffed hooker will find her way out of our room. No such luck again, so we make a quick call down to the front desk to ask if they can send you someone to checks this room out.

The room service lady shows up and walks in proclaiming "Oh my I have never smelled anything like this before!" in the best southern accent EVER, as she sprays our room with some sort of freshener. She then says "I don't think this is going to work, We are going to have to get you another room." SCORE! after a few hours, they finally found us a suite down on the 9th floor. Thankfully, we never heard any commotion from the Youth Group on either floor.

So Wednesday, we ventured out to explore Myrtle Beach. I went to a few beach shops and made our way to Ripley's Believe it or Not Oddities Museum. MIL got about 1/4 of the way through it and said I'm going to have to go sit in the car...I just cant walk anymore. Result = pissed off husband! I think my favorite think in all the exhibits was the Cat Armour. I could so picture my girl Sophie sporting this gear while taking down my dogs! Dinner consisted of Bojangles Famous Chicken! By far the best chicken we have had in a long time. At some point my MIL is lecturing my boy on why he shouldn't hang his wet trunks over the shower rod because they are causing a water puddle. I see him look up at the ceiling, so I turn around to get on to him about being disrespectful, only to see what has made him turn his head upward. My MIL has the bottom of her shirt in one hand as she is talking to him, and low and behold her tit is hanging out the bottom of her shirt!! So I scream, "OMG put your shirt down!" Her response "Why?" To that I said " You boob is hanging out!!" I think my son is scarred for life! He will never be able to look at her again!

Thursday, we ventured out to see a Cirque show. Truly amazing performance! Le Grande Cirque is a show worth going to see if you get the chance. We were just about to leave when we heard the thunderstorm open up. It rained so hard we were completely drenched from head to toe, just from running from the door to the waiting car. The drive back to the hotel was just as eventful. There was severe street flooding and debris all over. The parking garage had fire alarms going off, and  no elevator service. Thankfully we were parked on the 4th floor and the crossover bridge was on the 3rd.  So we make it back to the room....on the 9th floor (stairs again...ugh) to find everyone outside their rooms talking about all the craziness. Apparently someone was trapped in the elevator, and a lot of the furniture around the pool was all slammed in one corner. People had abandoned a lot of belongings on the beach to get out of the storm. We spotted 2 water spots down the beach from us, that evening.

Friday, took us to Ripley's aquarium. Small but good and apparently tiring. The hubby and I went to sleep on the couch shortly after getting back to the hotel suite at like 4 in the afternoon. Finally woke up at like 8pm then took the boy to swim one last time. Just when I thought it was safe to go to sleep at 2am since we had to be down stairs to catch our taxi to the airport, DH starts snoring. OMG I think he literally was sucking in the curtains from the neighbors suite. My last resort a FEW hours of shut eye, was my handy Spa music on my Iphone. This lasted long enough for the teenagers on the beach to start throwing whole strings of black jacks in trash cans. So I'm up again after a 10min snooze. I being the kill joy that I am, called down stairs to security (Su Cur ItySuCurIty (I love saying it like that, Thank you Anjelah Johnson) walks up and talks to them, and the kids start pointing out on the beach like, "No officer it wasn't us it was those kids out there!" I pick up the phone and call downstairs again to inform the SuCurIty that the kids that just pointed them in the wrong direction, were in fact the perps. Mission complete!

Saturday morning, We headed for the airport at 4am only to sit at the airport for 2 1/2 hrs waiting on our flight. Flight was uneventful, landed and headed home.

Oh wait there's a bit more...So on the shuttle bus back to the car....The fish smell is back! OMG but this time it was dead fish covered in cheap perfume! That was the longest 20min ride EVER!

I can't wait to go on vacation next year.....Where to go....And will we take the MIL or not!

God, Faith, and the lack there of

I do not to push my faith on anyone, but I have issues accepting the fact that people have turned away from God and no longer acknowledge God but they fully believe in KARMA. Well GOD help me if karma bites me in the ass for thinking this way.

I'm a firm believer in finding your own way and making choices for yourself, but if you have a problem in your life arise and you send out a general message asking  "Everyone please pray to your God that our 6m old dog can get through his horrible hip problems", I'm sorry....can't you find your faith long enough to pray yourself? I am an animal lover and will be praying for this little guy, because I believe no animal should suffer for any reason. But I also think you shouldn't PUSS OUT an ask everyone else to pray to their God for you. Grow a pair and say " I pray that our 6m old dog can get through his horrible hip problems"

Why is everyone so Anti-God these days? Why do you choose to deny your Savior(no matter what religion you are, you know you have one)? Has it become politically incorrect to be a follower of Christ?

I'm a believer!

Cancer SUCKS!

You would figure with as long as cancer has been around they would have found a cure for it. Cancer has taken so many wonderful people in my life. It is the one thing that makes me feel weak and powerless. I can get through most stuff, fix most things, but when it comes to cancer I fall like a house of cards.

This time cancer is taking one of the most caring, loving, Christian woman I know. She is a leader of our 5th and 6th grade youth at my church. When my son meet her, he just feel in love. She took him in and cared for him like he was one of her own. That is how she thinks of all the children in our church.
Last Friday they told her she had Pancreatic Cancer, her first words were "What a Bummer" She takes everything with a light heart and just accepts it. How many people in your life can do that when faced with news of cancer. So they went in yesterday to remove the tumor and found out that it was more complex than they thought. There were things they were not able to see on the CT scans and reports that showed up in real life. What looked like a tumor that was manageable in size, turned out to be large and wrapped around the artery and other organs. It was too dangerous to take any of it out at that point. In addition, they found more tumors in her liver that were hidden by the previously seen tumor. So when she woke up and her husband told her the news instead of crying or screaming she called him a doofus head for worrying. She goes back in for a follow up with the Dr next Friday, but at this point they are giving her 3-6 months to live.
I can only hope that if I ever had to face the news that she has, that I will look at it like she has. At a time like this how can you not wonder how God could let this happen to such a wonderful woman. How could he take such a strong positive influence in the church away from our children! I know that it is not his doing, or his will but it just seems as though he could have stepped in and made these tumors managable not terminal. I know that this will bring our children closer together in their faith because of knowing Mrs Charlene, but what about the ones that will never know such a bright, shining example of Christian love and faith.
And how do I explain this to my son? How do I tell him? Do I tell him?

Getting Older

Ok, so I'm only in my early thirties (so I'm not that old) but there are a few tale tale signs. Last week I went to get my roots touched up (because I am pretty much salt and pepper without color) Well my lady uses a dark brown with a hint of red. It always look beautiful when I leave, but a few days later I notice that a few places are kinda redder than the others, almost a fuchsia in a few places. So what I figure is that is where all my gray hair is. So then I start looking in the mirror all over my hair and I notice there are a lot of these little spots. OMG! I have decided, First I will have her use less red next time I go in, and Second I will probably dye my hair until I can no longer get away with being a brunette! Now it doesn't look bad out in the sunlight, but man it's scary when your hair turns against you and does weird crap!

Funny things my MIL says

OK so I thought being a foster mom would leave me with all kinds of funny things to write about. Well as it turns out it didn't, but having my MIL move in did. If you remember Archie Bunker from All in the Family, she will remind you a bit of him. I will be adding to this post as she says more funny ass things.

Happy New Year...Let's get 2010 started

Well I have to back up a bit. December was pretty good. I was able to take the boy and my MIL down to my home town for a few days before Christmas. The 6hr drive wasn't too bad. Normally it's just me and the boy, who is either listening to music or talking to his friends on the phone while saying how bored he is.
This time he sat in the backseat listening to Treasure Island on his Ipod, while the MIL sat up front with me. Normally this leaves me praying for someone to stab me in the ear and put me out of my misery, but this time wasn't too bad. She just recently had to get dentures so she has to talk really slow and LOW so her teeth don't fly out. It was nice to drive along and not reach for the volume knob only to find out it's not the radio that is too loud, it's her.
So the 4day visit with the fam was nice. We mainly hung out at their house. They threw a small pre-Christmas gathering. I was thinking that we would have like Ham or Turkey and some great Christmas sides.....NOPE. We had Lil' smokies, Queso and Chips, Meatballs in brown gravy, Taco Soup with noodles, and lets not forget the staple of that house Macaroni and Cheese. On a more positive note, I was able to see 4 Aunts and Uncles from my Mom's side and a few of my cousins and their kiddos. They didn't hang out very long but at least they showed. Then my SIL's coworkers and few mutual friends showed up which was alright I guess. I did like the fact that I got to meet my Bro#2's fiance. She's a really nice girl, I just hope he doesn't run this one off.
So Christmas Eve we headed back home...in 6hrs we went from 70degrees down to 28degrees with what I could only call a slight Blizzard. The snow was being blown so hard that you couldn't hardly see a thing. The DH hadn't thought about what we would do for dinner so we thought Pizza, WRONG! They closed at like 4pm. So I sent my DH out in the snow to find food. I think we ended up with Whataburger or something.
So Christmas day was fun....the boy actually woke up before us (which hasn't happened in years since he was like 6) So we got up, opened presents, had breakfast....nothing really exciting. I was pleasantly surprised by my gift from the DH.....a new laptop(which I'm using right now) I had his all planned out. I was going to order him a Personalized Cowboys Jersey from the NFL Shop. I ordered it at Thanksgiving, and just a week before Christmas I get and email that says, We're sorry but your order has been cancelled because we don't have the materials to make you order. I FREAKED out! That was my only big present I had for him. So at the last minute I had to run to the store to find something, anything at this point. DH is a HUGE XBox 360 guy, so I figure ok well I can get him a new controller. Done! Then I found a cool charging station for the controllers. Done! OUT OF TIME. I think he liked it but I did tell him what his real present was supposed to be and he said he was happier with the controllers. We had a wonderful dinner with our friends who live across from us. And it was a real Christmas Dinner gathering, complete with Turkey, Cranberry sauce, rolls and desserts. We brought the Ham, Greenbean Casserole, Sweet Potatoe Casserole. Oh and PLENTY of Wine was had by all!
New Years Eve was spent working in a Hospital Outpatient waiting area. My BFF HeaD (that was how the intake nurse identified her so it stuck) had to have sugery, and since her hubby is overseas at the moment I filled in for him. Everything went well, and we were out of there and home by 230pm. The rest of the day we sat around in her bedroom watching TV. At Midnight I called my DH (waking him up) to wish him a HNY since I was staying the night with her.
So far this New Year has been pretty good to us. I've been fighting a cold/sinus infection so I haven't been able to get out and do much. The boy just went back to school on Monday, so it's been really quiet.
I've resolved to at least make one entry every other week. I just don't have enough going on in my life to do more than that.

Dish Scrubber Etiquette

Ok so I thought I would have more to blog about with the foster puppy and the new puppy.I was so wrong. While they are cute they don't offer much entertainment value. Well the little one does but I will talk about that on another post.

So today my MIL came in to town. She is sorta moving in. Along with her came 2 parakeets. Now as many of you know I don't have an issue with animals at all. So she needed to clean their cage, which hey still no problem. She brings their toys and bottom tray into the kitchen and throws them in the sink to soak. The kicker comes in when she goes to grab my dish scrubber to scrub the bird poop off the bottom tray! I immediately was like "Hey I have another scrubber you can use for that!" I couldn't believe she would even CONSIDER using a dish scrubber to scrub poop off with. That'd be like taking the dish scrubber and using it to clean the toilet!

Officially a Foster Mom

Ok so my life is pretty basic. Get up, wake the boy, feed the boy, feed the animals (all 5 of them), drink coffee, drive the boy to school (sometimes while drinking coffee), come home, shower, and head to the office (it's about 10ft from the shower..lol) So since I lead such a mundane life I decided that I would become a Animal Foster Mom.
Yes, you heard right, an animal foster mom. I was approved today, and sent a list of pups. They suggested that I start out with this cute little girl named Karly. She is a Border Collie/Boston Terrier mix, about 4-5months old, and about 20lbs.
I went to the store and bought an extra crate, leash, collar, and dog bowl. All I need now is a puppy!

The world has slowed to a crawl

Ok so I have realized that I haven't posted anything in WEEKS. That just means I haven't really had anyone annoy me enough to talk about them. Which since I have been a bit under the weather was probably a good thing.

The only thing that I could complain about was not getting into the Free Screening of "Zombieland."  Instead the the hubby and I went out to eat and then rented "X-men Origins" (really good flix BTW)

So work has been pretty mundane, the boy and his GF broke up, and no new dramas going on.

On a brighter note, we were able to sell one of the two rent houses we own.

I'm really drawing a blank here on what to write about. I wish my life were a bit more intriguing, so that I could get a few readers...LOL

Oh well, maybe I will have something funny to say tomorrow.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

You go through being a parent thinking you have taught your kids right from wrong, until the day you get notified that your kid has a potty mouth. I have always known that this day would come, I just didn't think it would be this soon. The Boy is getting older and will soon be an official TEEN Boy, but I would have never thought I would SEE the day he used D!CK in a text. Now granted he wasn't calling his friend a d!ck, but it was just disturbing none the less. I of course over reacted and immediately took away his cell. But after The Hubby and I talked to The Boy we determined that it wasn't as bad as I had made it out to be.
I know kids will be kids. I also know that they will use inappropriate language out of ear shot of adults. The whole text would have been fine had he left out the D-bomb. I as a preteen did the same thing. I just knew better than to get caught! I went for YEARS without any adult in my life knowing that when I was with my friends I cussed like a sailor! I think I was maybe 15 when I let Sh!t slip out in front of my SIL.
So we let him know that we were not happy with his word choice, and I was even less happy about finding  out from my BF. Also had to let him know that whatever you put out there you better be prepared for the WHOLE world to see, be it words or pictures. I ended up giving him his phone back this morning, with the whole, "You better not let me hear about you using that kind of language again" speech.

Drifting

So this past week has been really depressing. My friend Red lost her mom to Cancer, an another friend's (M)  lil' bro is dying from a secondary infection from his Leukemia. It is a real faith tester. I know that I should be thankful that Red's mom is not in pain anymore, and that J is almost there as well. But the thing is, J is only 17. There is so much that he hasn't been able to experience and it just seems like such a rip off. M's family has already suffered the loss of their father to a brain tumor, and now this beast is back taking yet another family member from them.

Sadness

Today one of my close friends, Red, is having to make the most difficult choice that any child ever has to make. She has to turn off the ventilator that is supporting her mom's life. This brings back some very hard memories for me of my dad. While we didn't have to turn off his vent it was still hard hearing from over 900miles away that my dad had passed. He fought for over 8yrs to stay with us. He was alive to see my nieces and nephews be born, to see me graduate from high school, and to see me get married and have a baby of my own. He was in and out of the hospital so much of my life that I became numb to it and just accepted it as how things were. I cherish those years with him. The last time I saw him was a week before he passed. He was put in the hospital for the last time and never came out. I told him when I had to fly back to bring my son home because he was getting sick and the hubby was ETSing out of the military(so we also had to pack up), and that I would see him in a week when I moved back home and he could get to see his grandson anytime he wanted. Little did I know that would be the last conversation that I would have with him. I got the call a few days later that he had taken a turn for the worse and his organs had began to shut down on him and he just went to sleep and never woke back up. He had changed his orders to a DNR and was ready to begin his journey with God. He knew that it was his last time in that hospital.
20 months later I had to watch my mother die from cancer. I got to sit with her during the day at the hospital in her last few days. The morphine pretty much kept her out of it and she would talk to other relatives that had long since passed. But the hardest part was standing there with all our family watching her take her last breathe. With my dad it was one of those expected things since he had been sick for so many years, but with my mom it took all of a month for her Cancer to come back and the chemo to rip through her body and take her life.
Red's mom, Kitty, has esophageal cancer. Kitty was the funniest little Irish woman I have ever known. She will be sadly missed. I'm glad that I was able hang out with her a little over a year ago when they had to run from Hurricane Ike. She could make us all laugh no matter what was going on. It's comforting that Kitty will be surrounded by loved ones as she passes from this life to the next. God Speed Kitty! We will miss you!
